Chestnut Ridge

CHESTNUT RIDGE

(Moore,E.D.)

E93-01:  (Badge Of Honor X ((Old King Cole x (Elizabeth Salter x Camel Caravan)) x (Pacific Paradise x Vanilla Candy))

4 way branching    20 to 25 buds    36″ scapes    Mid    Rebloom    6″ flower    Dormant

Chestnut Ridge has been foremost in my hybridizing toward brown colorations. I have also used it in my attempt to carry Chestnut Ridge’s plant habit into other colors. I feel that the name is appropriate because the best color that I can use to describe the color is chestnut red-brown. Chestnut Ridge is also the name of a major thoroughfare in my area.

The contrasting watermark is shades of gold.  On very warm nights the following day’s blooms often have pleating in the throat. This hybrid has evolved from an unconventional genetic lineage.
