Journey’s Bride

Journey’s Bride

(Moore, E.D.)

((Tres Chic x Tet. Ice Princess) X Sparkling Champagne)

Sev-Dor. Mid  32”scapes 5”flowers 4 way branching  averages 26 buds

I have always had a fascination with both pink colored hemerocallis as well as bitones. With Journey’s Bride both qualities have been combined. This salmon pink bitone has a gold filigree edge with a very green throat that sets the flower off beautifully. A lighter pink watermark is often visible.

The 4-5 way candelabra branching presents the blossoms well above the foliage and produces a magnificent clump. It is a tough but feminine cultivar that has survived adverse growing conditions and is fertile both ways.

I would like to thank songwriter John Garlock for the exceptional name that is also the title of a song he has composed.  Very few if any cultivars containing Ice Princess are in commerce to my knowledge.
