Chamber of Secrets

Chamber of Secrets

(Moore, E.D.)

(Old King Cole x Ron Valente)

Dormant  late 40” scapes 6” flowers 5 way branching budcount averages 30

This full sibling to my first ever introduction Soldier’s Joy is a wonderful addition to the late season category of daylilies. Here in Northern Ohio an established clump of Chamber of Secrets is in its glory usually in early August, a full two weeks after peak bloom.

This bi-tone displays shades of violet-orchid and often by evening develops tones in the color range of orchid-lavender. A darker eyezone frequently becomes more pronounced surrounding the always present lavender watermark as the day unfolds.  This tightly ruffled bi-tone has a greener throat than its previously introduced sibling.

I have used it in patterned breeding and in various other pursuits. I look forward to the resulting offspring. In 2010, rebloom scapes extended the bloom season well into September. Easily fertile both ways.
